Oatmeal Cookies
3/4 cup softened butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1-3/4 cup flour
2 cups rolled oats
Makes about 4 dozen cookies
- Preheat oven to 375°
- Cream butter, brown sugar and sugar.
- Add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer. Then stir in the remaining flour and oats.
- Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for about 8 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Cool on cookie sheets for 1 minute, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
