Russian Tea Cakes
Bugar Balls
1 cup softened butter
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2-1/4 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts
additional powdered sugar to coat baked cookies
Makes about four dozen 1-1/2" cookies.
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.
- Sift together flour and salt. Stir into creamed mixture.
- Add nuts.
- Chill the dough.
- Roll into 1 inch balls. Place them 2-1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake until set, but not brown.
- While still warm, roll the balls in powdered sugar.
- Cool completely.
- Roll in powdered sugar again.
