I made this pretty wreath on Christmas Eve. It's a combination of real and silk greens attached to a straw wreath base.
My daughter helped me gather fallen branches from our pine trees in the yard. I used floral pins to attach them to the perimeter of the wreath.
Next I used some silk ivy sprays that were left over from my daughter's Prom Party. Those were attached in place with floral pins to the front of the wreath.
I purchased bells from Wal-Mart. The bells are pretty jewel colors in red, green, blue and a glittered blue. The bells are also pinned to the straw base with floral pins. I just tucked them into the ivy wherever it looked good.
Next, I made a bow from some ribbon I purchased at Wal-Mart. The ribbon has the same pretty jewel colors as the bells, a very pretty sheen, and a wired metallic edge. I used my EZ Bow Maker, following the directions for a Wreath Bow. I just had to make a few minor alterations to the directions because my ribbon was not quite long enough. The bow is wired to the top of the wreath with floral wire.
Finally, I used a short strip of floral wire which I braided and attached to the back of the wreath with floral pins to use as a hanger.
This was a quick project. It only took about an hour to make (and clean up!) I think my wreath is quite pretty! As a bonus, even though we have an artificial Christmas tree, we now have the aroma of real pine trees in the house.
