Here are three more beaded bracelets made from the same pattern as the Garnet Bugle Burst that I made in November. I used craft beads I had on hand. Wow! What a difference in quality! Many of these beads were somewhat difficult to work with because of their irregularities in size and the diameter of the holes in the beads. The color combinations are a bit unusual, too, since I have a limited stash of beads on hand. As for technique, practice really does help. The knots on these bracelets are smaller and more hidden than on the first bracelet I made. As I felt more confident in my skills, I got faster. I was able to make all three of these bracelets in a single day. Of course, I had heard that there were great differences in the quality of various bead brands. Now I've had first-hand experience with what it's like to work with inferior beads. Now that I know better, I'll buy quality beads for important projects. I can still use up these beads for fun projects. Still, the bracelets are sparkley and pretty. My girls enjoy this gift from their mom. So I consider the bracelets a success.
