I bought this book after our trip to Alaska introduced me to the button blankets used in the Tlingit Indian culture dances. I was hoping to use it to create a pillow in the button blanket style as a remembrance of our trip. Though this book is likly an excellent resource for a classroom unit on the Kwakiutt Indian people, it didn't serve my purpose very well. It does have a well-developed teacher's guide in the back of the book so that a class could make a button blanket. The picture story in the front of the book is not very exciting, though it does introduce kids to this culture.

Not recommended for my purpose, but good for classroom use
