Pocket Tote Bag

This tote bag features a finished piece of stitchery used as a pocket and applied to the front of a tote bag.

In this example, I used an old crushed velvet bedspread as the fabric for the tote bag. Because I re-used a finished item, some of the sewing was already done for me (the top hem). You don't need to follow my lead on this point. Feel free to use a new piece of fabric and hem it at the appropriate step.
