Place the sample tote on top of the fabric to determine the size of the tote you are making. My sample tote is approximately 13" wide by 14" high, finished size. Because I used an old bedspread for my fabric, I already had an upper hem. If you are using new fabric, you will need to add about 1-1/2" of fabric to the top to form a hem. Also figure to add 1/2" seam allowance for the bottom seam of the tote. And add another 1/2" seam allowance for the back seam. |
