| The easel is created by making a basic padded ornament with an added stand on the back that hinges at the top. The three pieces are sewn together with a ladder stitch. The seam between the front and back is then covered with cording.
This method is almost entirely adhesive free so as not to damage fine handwork. Any adhesives used do not directly touch the stitchery fabric. Easels can also be made by attaching the fabrics to the card stock with glue instead of lacing and sewing. The glue method is faster. This method is more archival.
