| At Christmas, I like to display my holiday cards by pinning them to long velvet ribbons. I used to staple the ribbons directly to the walls, but after we remodeled our living room, I wanted to keep from making the extra holes. I thought that if I used bell pull hardware on the ends of the ribbons, I could have a more elegant look, and cut down on the holes.
When I went to price bell pull hardware, I estimated that it would cost about $70.00 to buy the hardware that I required. Ouch! That was a bit out of my budget. So I came up with an idea to make my own bell pull hardware from supplies that are readily available at the local hardware store. Granted, my version is not as stately as those available from your fine needlework store. But it fit the bill at a total of $4.00 for materials!
My version of this bell pull hardware can be used on stitched bell pulls as easily as my Christmas card ribbons. Were I to use it on my stitchery, it would likely be for pieces with a country or primitive flair. I hope you enjoy making your own bell pull hardware by following these easy instructions.
