| In one of the cross-stitch groups I participate in, 2muchxs, we have an annual challenge: to begin a piece we want to stitch on January 1st, and complete it by the end of the year.
I chose this piece by Candamar Designs because I had received this kit as a gift — and it even has a mat and frame to go with it. In addition, it is an embellished cross-stitch piece. That's a technique I'd never tried before. The image is printed on the fabric (aida). The stitcher simply embellishes the image with threads. It's quite a subtle effect, adding texture and dimension to the printed image. Interesting. |
