Prisms Christmas Ornaments

Prisms Christmas Ornament -- No. 1
As one of the outreach projects, my local EGA chapter was asked to decorate a giant Christmas tree for one of the nursing homes in town. Each member of the chapter was asked to stitch two ornaments for the tree.

I decided to use a chart that I found in one of my needlework newsletters. It's called Prisms and was published by The Caron Collection. I picked colors of my own choice. The first ornament uses DMC stranded metallics in green, red, white and gold. The second ornament (shown below) was stitched in DMC stranded metallics in blue, purple, pink and silver.

Prisms Christmas Ornament -- No. 2

I finished the ornaments simply by stitching some felt to the back. The first ornaments has a ribbon hanger, the second has a silver cord.

If you'd like to learn more about various ways to finish ornaments, read the page in Needlework 101 called Ornaments: Finishing Techniques
