Mickey Mouse | ||||||||||||||
My youngest daughter wanted me to stitch up something especially for her, so I did this Mickey Mouse. I framed it in an oval embroidery hoop. This chart is from an old (1980) book of Disney graphs which is now quite the collector's item. I bought my copy on eBay. You might find a copy yourself using this search result. As you can see, I tried a different technique here. I outlined the major color sections first, and then am filled them in. I usually do my outlining last (or as I finish each section), but because Mickey is stitched with only a few colors and there is no shading, I decided to stitch it this way. I was able to pick up and stitch without having to be so careful of the counting. The major problem with outlining first is that sometimes your fill-in stitches overlap your outline stitches if you are not careful. When that happens, I just outline it again after I finish stitching where needed. Because this is a fast piece on scrap fabric, I was not being real picky.
