EGA Nametag

EGA Nametag
Here's the image of my EGA Nametag. Though I designed the overall way it looks, I need to admit that I did not design the flowered alphabet. That came from a book by the American School of Needlework called, The Ultimate Flower Alphabet Book. The alphabet is called "Flower Garden."

The other lettering was adapted from this book and Leisure Arts Leaflet 407 called 20 Backstitch Alphabets: Mini Series #2. (I sort of stretched some of the exhisting alphabets).

It sure was fun to stitch. I learned the Nun's Stitch which is used around the edges. After I stitched the Nun's Stitch part, I learned I should have pulled the threads a bit more to achieve a lacier look. This was it has more of a satin stitch or buttonhole stitch look to it, rather than a pulled thread look. Live and learn. :)

If you'd like to learn how to make the nun's stitch, read the page in Needlework 101 called Nun's Stitch.
