Felt Star Ornaments

When I saw this adorable ornaments on one of my favorite blogs, AllSorts, I knew I just had to make some!

The designer, Jenny, calls them "Peppermint Candy Stars."

I call them simple and fun to make!

I made ten of them yesterday. Some were made from white felt. Some from off-white felt.

I used some vintage buttons from my grandmother's stash on some. For others, I bought a very inexpensive card of red buttons at Wal-Mart.

I stitched mine up with some red crochet cotton, and used some bits and pieces of fiberfill to stuff them.

I used two different ribbons as hangers. There's a 3/16" red picot edged satin ribbon. And then I bought some "Sheer Petit Dot C6 Red" ribbon by Offray.

I made most of the ornaments using the off-white craft felt on the front and back. I made one with a red back. That's pretty cute.

I also made most of the ornaments the same size. But I had one scrap of felt left that was just a bit small, so made a petit ornament from that piece, and attached a red satin covered button. Very sweet!
