Loom Knit Hats

Our charity stitching group not only uses cross-stitch to decorate quilt squares, but we also make ornaments, premie caps and chemo hats. The hats can be made with either knit or crochet.

Recently, I decided to use up a bunch of the yarn that I inherited from my mom. So I bought a set of circular knitting looms to make the knitting unbelievably simple. It's very mindless work, so is the ideal kind of handwork to do while in waiting rooms or while watching TV when I just don't have the energy to count cross-stitch.

I bought my loom set from Wal-Mart in the craft section, but I know that there are several online retailers that also sell this type of loom. You can even buy it from Amazon!

The knitting is simple because you simply wrap the yarn around the pegs, then lift one loop over the next with a special tool to create a row.
