Heraldic Rose Bookmark

I made this bookmark for myself. In fact, I looked for this imported kit on eBay for some kind of reasonable price for well over two years. I finally found it for about $7.00. Still a lot to pay for a bookmark! But ... I liked the design.

It is a very nice kit. Great quality materials. There is enough floss left in the kit to make a second bookmark. And it would not be very hard to find the aida banding and a nice piece of felt for the backing. Heck, I even know how to make tassels from scratch.

Yet I doubt I'll stitch this one again, even to donate to a literacy program. Though I love the result, the stitching was a bit tedious on this design. I'm not quite sure why it is that some patterns are a joy, and others I just have to slog through. This one was not quite slogging, but it was on that lower end of the scale.

Still, like I say, I really like the finished result. Now to find a worthy book in which to use it!
