Tulip Bookmark

This is feeling good! This is the bookmark I stitched for charity for October. So this obligation is now caught up, too!

This pattern was a freebie from the Kissy-Cross blog. It was shown as a scissor fob. I was originally going to finish it like my suede bookmark. But after I got the stitching completed and saw that the fabric already looked like a bookmark, I decided to simply fringe all the edges after stitching a border of Nun's Stitch.

My daughter suggested stitching that border with the same green as the stem, thus tying the design together with the border. I thought that was an excellent suggestion since the only green on the bookmark was the stem. It brought more color balance to the piece.
