Tipsy Tree

Isn't this little tree just the sweetest thing?

This is the first ornament I've stitched from the 2007 edition of Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament Issue

I changed things up a bit from the pattern. Decided to use DMC stranded floss instead of the specialty threads called for. For the sparkley "lights" I used a white metallic floss. And for the ornaments I used some red rocailles beads that I have in my stash.

The chart also calls for a star charm to be stitched on top of the stitched star. That way the weight of the charm "pulls" the treetop over. I think it works fine this way.

I'll be donating this ornament to charity through Cross Stitching for Charity. Since I got behind on stitching an ornament per month, this is my July submission.
