I recently joined a group of stitchers that makes ornaments, bookmarks and quilt squares for charity. One of the gals in the group is putting together a quilt with a theme of angel snowmen. She sent the participants a pattern or two and the aida on which to stitch.

I was given two squares to complete. They stitched up quickly and were fun to do. I did make a couple changes. I decided to use a different white cotton for the wings than for the snowman. On Pray for Show, I stitched the words on the sign in white instead of black because they showed up better. On the Holiday Decorator, I made a cross-hatch design instead of stitching the gazillian French knots to decorate his scarf.

Cute! It will be fun to see the completed quilt sometime this fall or early next year.

The quilts are donated to children facing serious illness or to the elderly in care facilities. I love being able to use my stitching talents in the service of others!
