I have a sister who is a peace activist in Hawaii. She leads a local group called Code Pink. My sister's always been a bit of a rebel — now she has a cause she finds worth fighting for.
I admire my sister's spunk. I made this for her upcoming birthday.
I did some thread substitutions on this piece:
| Color Called For |
My Substitute |
| Weeks Chesapeake / Anc 1034 / DMC 931 |
GAST Old Blue Paint |
| Weeks Purple Haze / Anc 871 / DMC 3041 |
GAST Berry Cobbler |
| Weeks Whitewash / Anc 926 / DMC 712 |
GAST French Vanilla |
| GAST Dried Thyme / Anc 860 / DMC 522 |
GAST Shutter Green |
I decided to finish it as an easel. I'd learned the technique recently at a finishing class. I adapted what I learned to make an easel using very little glue or adhesive. (In class, we used a lot of glue!)
I've made a slide show of my version of an easel and added it to Cameo's Completions.
