I'm part of a Lizzie*Kate 12 Blessings of Christmas stitch-along in one of my cross-stitch groups. Seems like it took forever to get the fabric. I finally gave up on my local sources and bought it online from Nordic Needle ... on sale, even!

So this is the first of twelve ornaments in this set. I've decided to stitch them and finish them as shown on the pattern card. I'm using Gentle Art Sampler Threads and Anchor floss. The special hand-dyed wools from Weeks were fairly pricey, but it's very nice quality. I even bought the little button accessories. I made the cording with some gold crochet cotton that has a pretty metallic spun in.

I think I'll be keeping this set of ornaments for my family.

The ornaments do stitch up fairly quickly, though, so I may stitch them twice. A couple of the gals in the stitch-along are stitching them over one. They come out so delicate and cute that way that I may give that a try. We'll see.
