Adonis Blue Butterfly

Adonis Blue Butterfly
This pretty butterfly is for a charity quilt. The entire quilt will be made of butterfly squares. It's being stitched for a 12 year old girl named Maryah.

I found this chart in my stash. It was a freebie I'd found on the web years ago. It was nice to find a reason to stitch it. But my version of the chart did not have the designer's name on it.

An online friend told me the same chart is on page 7 in a book called Butterfly Charted Designs from the Archives of the Lindberg Press.

I completely miscounted the stitch count when I decided to make this butterfly. I thought it was twice as big as it is! So to help fill up the quilt square a bit more, I added a border of my own design, using some of the same colors in the butterfly. I like the way it turned out!
