I chose all regular DMC stranded floss for the snowman, but I did choose different colors than those called for in the chart. Since the Fiddler's Cloth is so light, I chose to use 4 strands of white for the snowman so that he would stand out. Unfortunately, he still faded into the background when he was finished being stitched. So then I added some backstitching with DMC 775, a very light blue. That helped a bit, but he still faded into the background too much. So finally, I added some DMC 776, a soft yellow, to the entire background. I stitched it with just one strand and a half-cross stitch. Finally the snowman "popped." I also changed the color of the dots on his scarf, the fringe on the scarf, and his eyes. Then I added some extra backstitching to help his eyes and mouth have definition. For the background, I found a nice Christmas fabric in the same colors as the stitchery. It's a holly pattern with a partridge nestled among the leaves. Others in the series:
