Lois' Bookmark by Julie Hasler
January holds two birthdays for members of my quilt group. This pattern reminds me of snowflakes, perfect for a winter birthday. I decided to stitch it for Lois to include with her birthday card.

I found this border pattern in a book in my personal library. I like these patterns, but I find them a little difficult to use because they are presented like colored pencil on graph paper. There are no symbols, design area counts or color keys ... you just choose your own colors.

The pattern is used as a border for a table runner and napkins in the book. I like adapting patterns for purposes other than those they're shown in when published.
