Giraffe

Giraffe by X-Calibre Designs
By now I guess you can see how I enjoy my giraffes. When I saw this little cutie online, I knew I had to stitch it up. I just love his expression and the way his little round body sits on his short little legs.

The giraffe is part of X-Calibre Designs' "Little Ones" collection. This collection is marketed as "cross stitch kits for beginners of any age." Each kit contains 14 count aida, needle, DMC threads, large print chart and full instructions. And they only cost £1.50 each! Now, I decided to use a blue aida from my stash instead of the fabric from the kit. And I framed it in a 5" embroidery hoop that I painted gold. I added the black bow at the top because most of my giraffes are either stitched on black fabric, or have a black matting. I wanted to carry over a touch of black on this little one, too.

Everything is little about this guy! Including the time it took to stitch him.
