Alaskan Whale Christmas Ornament

Alaskan Whale
This is the fourth in a series of ornaments I picked up while on vacation in Alaska in 2001.

I used the same piece of 14ct tan aida on this ornament as on the Puffin. One good tip I learned was that if you have several small charts to stitch, try using one larger piece of fabric and divide it into the number of sections for the charts you have to stitch. Mount the fabric in your frame, and stitch away.

For example, it might be easier to handle the one larger piece of fabric for four small projects than cutting the fabric and mounting the smaller pieces four times. Just be sure to leave space between the stitched projects so that you have enough of a border for finishing when you cut the pieces apart.

Stitched June 4 - 5, 2002.
