Happy Easter

Happy Easter by Sue Hillis Designs
Began March 24, 2002. Completed stitching April 16, 2002.

I had this chart in my stash for at least three years, and decided to stitch it up this Easter season. I simply like the cheery colors and simple design. Though the finished piece is shown framed on the chart, I plan on finishing mine as another small banner for my home.

One again, I used fabric and fibers from my stash, so what I used is not exactly what is suggested on the pattern. My fabric piece was barely large enough for the design. I have only 1/2 inch seam allowance on the top and bottom! I also did not have the Wildflowers called for in the chart, so I substituted with Bravo! (A118). I am very pleased with the results.

The chart also calls for (optional) ecru KitKin. This fiber allows the bunnies to have fuzzy fur. Since I didn't have that fiber in my stash, my bunnies are stitched with plain ecru DMC stranded cotton.

The cute egg charm came attached to the chart. It was tacked into place once the stitching was complete.
