Tassels: Conventional, Intricate and Ethnic was one of the General Correspondence Courses (GCC) offered by the Embroiderers' Guild of America (EGA). I took this course as a member of the Cyberstitchers Chapter of EGA.
The purpose of the class was to learn to make a variety of tassels from various fibers, and decorate them using fiber and bead embellishments. This class by Margaret Fleming was quite a challenge!
For our class, we were encouraged to buy as few threads as possible and instead use up some fibers from our stash, so some of the colors of these tassels are quite ugly. Several of the tassels called for perle coton, but since I didn't have much perle coton in my stash, I often substituted other fibers.
I was very good about keeping a notebook with notations about the tassels as I went through the course. It really helps when I try to recreate some of these tassels now.
I made a total of 22 tassels for this course, so will list them below with links to images and details about each.
