Striped Stocking Ornament

Striped Stocking Ornament
I'm on a roll! Two months of working on Christmas ornaments on the 25th of the month, and two ornaments completed. I worked this cute little ornament up in one day.
Through the chart is designed for perforated plastic, I decided to work this stocking on some 14ct. red aida that I had in my stash.

This stocking does have a front and back, so I can stuff it with little goodies before hanging it on the tree. However, the pattern has stitching on both front and back, but I decided to stitch the front only.

I changed some of the coloration, too. For example, the pattern shows red beads right under the cuff, but I decided to stitch gold bead instead. I also substituted DMC gold metallic thread (on the spool) for the Kreinik braid called for in the pattern. I used a wrapped white baby yarn to stitch the satin stitches of the cuff. And I added a monk's cord trim around the edge which I also made from the same baby yarn. I stitched my name and date on the back of the stocking in green floss.

I bought the leaflet directly from ASN quite a while ago, so I don't remember how much it cost -- but I think I got it on one of the dollar specials that they have now and then in their catalogs. Catalogs are free and you can get the info on how to order one on their website.
