This design is a "Petit Project" that the CyberStitchers chapter of EGA did as a program project. It was designed by Janet Salerno. The pattern called for 28 count Quaker cloth, Waterlilies and DMC Flower Thread. But I used what I had on hand: 28 count Banjo Cloth (a cotton, polyester, linen blend), DMC 6-strand floss for the outlines, and DMC #8 perle coton for the Xs.
I also used a new (to me) method of stitching my Xs that is formed sort of like the continental stitch of needlepoint. It's a "sewing" (as opposed to poke and pull) method of stitching. This little pincushion worked up very quickly -- in just three days for me. I decided to use the same " Joining Stitch" on the edges of this pincushion. This time I filled it with polyester fiberfill.
