Tassel with Beaded Dangles

Tassel with beaded dangles
The idea of this embellishment was to have some of the beads stationary on the tassel head, and other beads dangling as part of the tassel skirt, but to make it look like all of the beads were of the same strand.

I think using different fibers and beads would make this a more attractive tassel. This particular tassel looks "stiff" to me and I think trying other fiber/bead combinations could help it have more character. This tassel is made from a white baby yarn that has a shiney rayon strand in it. The dangling beads are 4mm, and the end bead is a 3mm clear bead with a rainbow glow.

I may try this design with a rayon fiber (the weight of crochet cotton) and some interesting seed beads. A better combination of fibers and beads will undoubtedly make a more attractive tassel. I imagine longer dangles would look better, too. I'd like to try one where there are six or eight dangles instead of four, and the dangles drop to the bottom edge of the skirt.
