Pom Poms

Pom Poms
The trick to excellent pom poms is first to wrap enough yarn into a tassel, then to tie the head tight enough that the threads will pop into a spherical shape. Then you need to trim them evenly so that they look balanced. I made three sets of pom poms before they came out full enough to be spheres. If they are not full, they are truly sad, sorry sights!

These pom poms were cut on a 2 inch cardboard. I wrapped the cardboard about 200 times to get a nice full sphere. I then tied each end of the cardboard, and cut both pom poms at the same time, making them approx. 1 inch balls. I used a gold 4-ply yarn from my stash.
